| Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a process that requires
participation from the customer to achieve long-term pest control.
It is an approach that we feel is most effective for the best possible
results. IPM consists of three main steps:
- Identify the pest and conducive conditions - Inspect
the premises to learn where the pest is "hiding", and
identify the specific type(s) of pest we are dealing with. This
is not to determine that it is a cockroach, or and ant, or a termite,
but to identify the specific kind of pest. (Reason: Different
types of cockroaches have very different habitats, breeding habits,
and other biological differences. This applies to ants, spiders,
and almost any other pest). Determine what conditions are making
the structure habitable or inviting to the pest.
- Determine course of action and the risks - Consult the
customer. Consider the severity of the infestation, damage and
nuisance factor. Potential health and environmental hazards are
considered; both related to the pest, and to the possible treatment.
Make suggestions for eliminating points of entry and infested
areas; and deter potential pest infestations and/or reduce existing
ones. Determine treatment options: Sanitation, exclusion, pesticide
application, or any combination of treatment methods.
- Take Action - Employ the treatment plan and implement
prevention steps. Monitor the premises for new or continued pest
activity, and evaluate the results.
Your pest control technician will thoroughly
show what you, the homeowner, and we can do to help eliminate
your pest infestation and show you ways to prevent recurring problems.
It's a team effort, and it's good to know Arrest A Pest
is on your side!
